Hello Kasen!

On March 1st around 2:00 am I got up to go to the bathroom, which I did about every 2-3 hours the last month of pregnancy, I started feeling little contractions.  They were only about 20 minutes apart, so I decided I should just go back to bed in cause it was false labor.

I should first state that I decided to have a home birth.  I am not a fan of hospitals when it comes to birth.  I wanted to be in control as to what happens and not be told I can't sit in a certain position and so on.... plus I wanted to do it all natural.  (My sister did it twice with no epidural so I decided I could too!)

  I got a few hours of sleep then woke up at 7:00 am and the contractions were a little closer together.  I decided to text my midwife and let her know.  I also texted my sister to let her know about my contractions.  She came over about an hour later to help me out.

His due date wasn't till March 14th, so most people didn't really think I would have him so early!
My midwife, Janae, said if they get closer to let her know.  I probably text her 10 more times within the text few hours.  Every few hours the contraction would get closer and closer together.   By 2:00 pm the contractions were about 7 minutes apart.  That's when I decided I wanted Janae there.  She was in Enterprise with her family, so she started to head home.

The contractions started to get stronger and stronger and only about 3 minutes apart.  Janae had not made it back yet, so she called her back up midwife and had her come over.  Liz came over, then Janae made it about 10 minutes later.  They checked me and I was dilated to a 5.

My labor continue to speed up from there.  I got in the tub for a little while, which helped.  Then I got out and walked around for a bit and it wasn't helping so I got back in the tub.  My midwife would pour hot water over my stomach whenever I got a contraction, it helped ease the pain.  Ray took over and helped me when the contractions came.  My sister Rachel was there and helped out too, they all took turns helping!  Janae also had an assistant there, she helped out so much!

The  contractions started getting stronger, so I got in different positions to help him go down!
Then I got out of the tub and went in the front room, where we set up everything to have the baby.  I thought my water broke when I was in the tub.. but Janae checked and it didn't break.  So she broke it and things started to progress from there.

Around 8 ish (I really don't know the time line very well) I started pushing.  Oh boy.. that hurt.

At 9:28 pm Kasen was welcomed into the world.

He was 6 pounds 12 oz's and 19 1/2 inches long.

I am so in love with his little guy.

He is already a month old!  Time really does fly, I want him to stay little forever!! ;)

40 weeks....

Instead of having a 40 week pregnancy picture I have this one...

I now have a 2 week old baby boy!  He surprised us and came early!

38 weeks

Maternity clothes: Yes. Lots of yoga pants and leggings


Stretch marks: Yes a few

Belly button in or out: It's poppin out!

Sleep: Not much lately

Best moment this week: I only gained one pound this week ;)

Worst moment this week: Not getting enough sleep

Miss anything: Bending down hahaha

Movement: Oh ya!

Cravings: Mostly Cold things, lemonade, ice cream and pizza!

Looking forward to: March!


All about baby: He is the size of a pumpkin. He is about 19 inches long and weighs 7 ish pounds.

36 weeks

Maternity clothes: Yes. Lots of yoga pants and leggings


Stretch marks: I have 2 new ones. He's getting bigger

Belly button in or out: It's mostly out

Sleep: Not much lately

Best moment this week: I slept for 6 hours straight!

Worst moment this week: Not getting enough sleep

Miss anything: Bending down hahaha

Movement: Oh ya!

Cravings: Only a few things so far. Mostly Cold things, lemonade, and pizza!

Looking forward to: March!


All about baby: He is the size of a honeydew. About 17 inches long and 5.5 pounds!

34 Weeks

Maternity clothes: Yes. Lots of yoga pants and leggings


Stretch marks: I have 2 new ones. He's getting bigger

Belly button in or out: Its starting to pop out more

Sleep: Not much lately

Best moment this week: having a semi good nights sleep.

Worst moment this week: Not getting enough sleep

Miss anything: a hot tub!

Movement: Oh ya!

Cravings: Only a few things so far. Mostly Cold things, lemonade, and pizza!

Looking forward to: March!


All about baby: He is the size of a butternut squash. He is about 5 pounds and 17.5 inches long!

32 Weeks

Maternity clothes: Yes. Lots of yoga pants and leggings


Stretch marks: Not yet! I am applying coconut oil and lavender oil and cocoa butter twice a day!

Belly button in or out: In... but its starting to pop out

Sleep: Not much lately

Best moment this week: Seeing baby boy on the ultrasound

Worst moment this week: Not getting enough sleep

Miss anything: bending down for things is getting hard

Movement: Oh ya!

Cravings: Only a few things so far. Mostly Cold things, lemonade, and pizza!

Looking forward to: March!


All about baby: He is the size of a squash. He is about 3.5 pounds and 16 3/4 inches long!

30 Weeks

Maternity clothes: Yes. Lots of yoga pants and leggings


Stretch marks: Not yet! I am applying coconut oil and lavender oil and cocoa butter twice a day!

Belly button in or out: In... but its starting to pop out

Sleep: I have good days and bad

Best moment this week: Sleeping till 5

Worst moment this week: Not getting enough sleep

Miss anything: bending down for things is getting hard

Movement: Oh ya!

Cravings: Only a few things so far. Mostly PB&J's, fries, and pizza!

Looking forward to: March!


All about baby: He is the size of a large cabbage and as long as a cucumber. He is about 3 pounds and 15 3/4 inches long!

28 Weeks

Maternity clothes: Yes. I finally bought a pair of maternity jeans!


Stretch marks: Not yet! I am applying coconut oil and lavender oil and cocoa butter twice a day!

Belly button in or out: In... but its starting to pop out

Sleep: I have good days and bad

Best moment this week: Christmas!

Worst moment this week: Not getting enough sleep

Miss anything: Maybe not being able to use a hot tub

Movement: Oh ya!

Cravings: Only a few things so far. Mostly PB&J's, and pizza!

Looking forward to: New Years!

24 Weeks

I swear I just typed my 22 Week post yesterday. Time is flying by!

Stretch marks: Not yet! I am applying coconut oil and lavender oil and cocoa butter twice a day!

22 weeks

As of Friday I am 22 weeks!







Maternity clothes: Yes and no. I will "try" to fit in my normal clothes, but I am going to need new pants soon. Yoga pants are my best friend :)

Stretch marks: Not yet! I am applying coconut oil and lavender oil twice a day!

Sleep: ahh.. its so-so. The past week hasn't been good.

Best moment this week: Feeling our boy move for the first time!

Worst moment this week: Not getting enough sleep

Cravings: Only a few things so far. Mostly PB&J's, caramel popcorn, and SOUP!

Looking forward to: School being over in a month :)

All about baby: He is the size of a papaya. Measures a pound and nearly eight inches! He has eyebrows and eyelashes.
