Homemade body soap

I found a cool recipe a few weeks ago, on Pinterest!
I loved the idea so I made it!



Here's what you need:




Cheese grater

2 Tablespoons of Liquid Glycerin (found in the band aid section at any drugstore or grocery store)

1 - 8 oz bar of soap

1 gallon of water





Step 1:

Grate the entire bar of soap

Step 2:

Fill a pot with 1 gallon of water and add the soap shavings

Step 3:

Add 2 Tablespoons of liquid glycerin and turn the heat to medium/high for about 20 minutes and stir until the soap dissolves.

Step 4:

This is what it looks like once it's dissolved, basically just soapy water.

Step 5:

Leave it alone to cool for at least 10-12 hours. It begins to cloud up after 3-4 hours

Then you have a gallon of soap that would normally cost $25 - 30 dollars!

No bake energy balls!

I have been making this recipe for a few weeks! I usually grab a few and eat them for a quick and easy breakfast or as a snack!. There is no sugar in them and they are super tasty!

Try them out!

No-Bake Energy Bites  -

1 cup oatmeal

1/2 cup peanut butter (or other nut butter)

1/3 cup coconut oil (or honey)

1 cup coconut flakes

1/2 cup ground flaxseed

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1 tsp vanilla

(add a little stevia or real maple syrup if you want some sweetener)

Mix everything above in a medium bowl until thoroughly incorporated.  Let chill in the refrigerator for half an hour.  Once chilled, roll into balls and enjoy!  Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.

Combine all ingredients in a bowl

Mix together

Roll into balls

Enjoy!

A year...

Its been a full year since I have moved back to St. George from Salt Lake...
What a great year it has been too... (I still can't believe its been a year though)

Lots has changed in the past year.

I'm living back in St. George, with my Friends and family.

I never knew how hard it would be to move to another city where I barely knew anyone while being away from my comfort zone.

I'm single and not engaged.

Every so often I still get asked about being married (someone asked me a week ago).
Being single has been fun, its fun going on dates meeting new people.
And I'm not ready for a seriously relationship just yet..

And the best part... I'm HAPPIER.

Here is something I like to say...

"When I was in Elementary school and was asked what I want to be when my grow up... I didn't say a Doctor, Nurse or astronaut.. All I said was I wanted to be Happy."

Thank you to all my friends and family that I have in my life that make it even better. 

My sister Jessica came down from California last week, so we had a early Thanksgiving with her on Saturday. It was fun and tasty!

.Meet Meeko!

Meeko (My roommates dog) is my first real pet. Growing up we only had a mouse and maybe lizard or hornytoad, as we are all allergic to cats and dogs.  I got lucky when it came to Meeko, he is 2 breeds that are hypoallergenic. He is pretty much the first dog that I have not been allergic to.

He is so dang lovable and cute! I will say, I am rather very attached to him. A few weeks ago Kyle went out of town and took Meeko with him, that was definitely a lonely week.

The Unwanted visitor.

Two days ago I woke up and saw this on my bathroom wall...

Yeah.. that is a scorpion.


I was pretty freaked out at first, but he was fairly small. I let Bob (Yes, I named him) stay on the wall until I had enough courage to get him out. Since my room mate wasn't home, I had to deal with him by myself!

I finally mustered enough courage and went and got a plastic bottle to go and scoop him off the wall .
Note: I did put gloves on just in case.

I got him in the bottle and let him sit there for a while.. as I had to show my room mate him!  I did go check on him every 10 minutes to make sure he didn't get out!  Here is Bob in his bottle.

This morning we had his forced funeral, as he got flushed down the toilet.  Sadly, Bob will not be missed.

Funny of the day

Today while at my mothers house, Brayden was spending the day with us and he has had a bit of a runny nose, suddenly he sneezed and said "I'm sick, cause I ate some grass earlier today"


I don't know if its just me..but I could not stop laughing, my eyes were crying because I had been laughing so hard!  He really does say the funnies things sometimes!   :)

A close call... For us

 

This accident happened early Wednesday morning, in the apartment building RIGHT BEHIND ours. We are lucky our building didn't get damaged.

Right now there are guards posted out side the building 24/7. Probably so no one try's to sneak in and get some of their possessions back.

The other day I was going for my morning walk and found this on the side walk...

New and Shiny!

Last week I got a new phone, its the chocolate LG Touch, So far I love it!
I got a free upgrade, can't say no to a free phone  ;)

Last weekend Kevin and I drove down south to see family and friends, it was so nice seeing everyone!
We mostly hung out at my mom's house and Rachel's and we hung out with friends a few times.

I have been looking for a new vehicle for a few weeks, we found one at the Toyota dealership in SLC, but  I wanted to see what was available in St. George.

We went to the Toyota dealership and within 10 minutes I saw the Pontiac G6 GT and immediately fell in love! I've liked them for a while and have drove a few of them before. So I ended up getting it and so far I love it!

That is my exciting news for the week! Hope you are all having a good weekend!

We had a fun night last night playing games with another couple.

Bad day...Chocolate helps melt it away!

Sometimes when I'm having a bad day all I want is a hug or... CHOCOLATE!

I tried this HCG chocolate delight recipe yesterday... and it was soooo tasty!

1 C. cocoa
1 C. Coconut Oil, melted
8 packages Stevia
Agave Nectar (Optional)
Flavored Stevia – Peppermint, English Toffee (Optional)

Fluff cocoa with a fork to break up any chunks. Add melted Coconut Oil.

Mix in Stevia adding MORE or less depending on taste.

Add a few sticks or drops of Agava Nectar to taste and drops of flavored stevia to taste.

Mozy.com!

What would you do for a free tshirt?

Well let me tell you what I did. I play a trivia game on twitter and the sponsor of the last game was a site called mozy.com they offer a great online back up solution. They said they will give you a free shirt if you Did something for it. I Really wanted one of these shirts, for Kevin cause it fits him..since he is nerdy, so I was determined to get one.

What I did was wear a sign around the office that said "Mozy.com is Awesome!!"
