Last week on Wednesday the 6th I flew off to go see my sister Jessica who lives in California! I had the most fabulous time visiting her and experiencing her life style. My trip started off at 7.30pm at a hotel in St. George to take the St. George Shuttle to the Las Vegas airport. I fell asleep during part of the ride so it went by rather quickly. After I got to the airport I checked in for my flight then I sat by the gate and read my book for about 45 minutes until the plane boarded.
In the plane I sat near the back of the air and in front of me there were two little boys that were about 6 and 8. I do admit they were a bit annoying at times, while we were waiting for the plane to take off the kids were looking at the safety card that tells us what to do if the plane crashes in the water. So the older kid says very loudly, "mom, when the plane crashes I'll show you what to do cause I read the instruction card so just ask me what to do" the mom just looks around with a scared look on her face, I admit I was laughing because he said that. About ten minutes after the plane went off the ground the "Get your seat belt on" sign came on and made a "beep" noise, the younger boy said "Mom that sound means we are now flying. Haha, that was my entertainment of the night! I got to the Santa Rosa airport around 12:30 or 1 and Jessica came and picked me up, she lived about ten minutes away.
The next day we got up and went to the Red Wood forest national park with one of her good friends, it was incredible to be out in the fresh air and to see all the enormous trees growing all over the place. Near by in the park there is a small lake where Jessica picked some wild berries that we ate as a snack. Later that night we went to a farmers Market and then went to one of her favorite restaurants called Sol Food. It was very delicious! Then we went and met up with one of her friends.
Friday we were a bit lazy and stayed at her house for a while and watched some TV shows and we went on a quick shopping trip to by me a new outfit! We also got invited to a Renaissance party, which was weird interesting and fun. It was a 25 year anniversary party for this couple, they had the whole Renaissance/middle ages theme down very well. There were knights, jostling, turkey legs, and much more. Everyone was dressed up in costume and having such a great time. So we ate some big turkey legs and watched some knights jostle.
Saturday we woke up around 8 because we had to head to San Fransisco for a business meeting that Jessica had. First we ate breakfast and a little cafe called "Cafe Gratitude" where all the food is made from raw food. First we got a fruit/veggie juice with a shot of wheat grass on the side, it was very delicious! Then we got some spicy coconut Thia soup and a big pepper (filled with something I forgot what) and rice and salad. Then we went to her meeting at her friends club and we got to have a tour of the place. Every room had its own theme.
Then we went shopping with one of her friends and a San Fran. mall, which is like seven of the St. George malls, so it was heavenly! There were so many stores to chose from. We spent a few hours looking around and buying new stuff!
After we went to the Mall we went to a Tea shop/restaurant, it was very delicious and we ate some interesting food. After that we walked around the park and took some pictures, then we went off to see another friend and just hung out then went back to Jess's house and went to bed.
(I took both these pictures at about 10am and I could not believe how foggy it was!)
Sunday we woke up and went to the Apple festival which was really fun to walk around and see all the vendors and all the tasty food options. Then we headed off to Jessica's friends baby shower, then headed back to San Fran. to drop me off to the air port. We left around 4:45 and my plane's departure time was 7.15. The drive is usually 1 hour and 30 minutes, but for some reason it took over 2 hours and thirty minutes, we arrived at the air port at 6:55 and we were told that we were too late and had missed the flight. So we had to book a flight for the next morning at 7:45. We then decided to go eat at a tasty local pizza place with her friend and drove back to her house. We then woke up at 3:50am to leave to drop me off at a Shuttle to take me to the air port, I got to the air port with 45 minutes to spare so I tried to nap but ended up just listening to music. After we got boarded I was able to fall asleep for about half the flight. After it landed I went and retrieved my suit case and sat for 50 minutes to wait for my ride with the St. George shuttle. I slept off and on the ride home but couldn't get comfortable. So I finally arrived home at 1:30pm and my momma picked me up!
Overall I had a wonderful time visiting my sister and experiencing her life style!
I'll add more pictures when I upload them!
